AMERICANS FOR HOPE, GROWTH AND OPPORTUNITY LAUNCHES THREE RADIO ADS IN A CAMPAIGN TO BLOCK A BAD BUDGET DEAL
"No budget deal is better than a bad budget deal," says Forbes
(Bedminster, New Jersey) Steve Forbes, Honorary Chairman of Americans for Hope, Growth and Opportunity, a national issues advocacy organization, today announced a radio campaign to block the possibility of a junk budget deal.
"President Clinton is proposing a budget replete with unnecessary tax increases and unnecessary spending increases," said Mr. Forbes. "Our message to Republicans and Democrats alike is simple: just say no. No budget deal is better than a bad budget deal."
The first radio ad, entitled "Clintonomics," criticizes the fact that President Clinton's budget amounts to a $23 billion tax increase, and that his so-called tax cuts are canceled in just over two years. "Promising a tax cut when it's really a tax increase that's Clintonomics."
The second ad, entitled "2002," criticizes the fact that President Clinton's budget calls for an additional $120 billion in federal spending, and delays the "tough choices" for later. "Only Bill Clinton could tell us that he will balance the budget, but not until 2 years after he's out of office."
The third ad, entitled "CPI," criticizes President Clinton's political attempt to adjust the Consumer Price Index. "Washington politicians playing with the CPI is just their typical game of raising taxes and cutting Social Security benefits. It's dishonest and wrong."
The radio ads will air in Washington, D.C.
